VENDING
Project

My family are first generation immigrants from China. My English is no good, it was a struggle for me to start my own vending business. I've been waiting in line for 3 years to gain my permit. Vending is everything for me. It is the only support for my family. Without my vending business, I have no source of income.

I am a single mother taking care of 3 children living in South Bronx. I've been vending on the street of Manhattan for almost 15 years. When I first started the vending business, my cart and license cost me a great fortune, but I have not choice other than paying for them. My income hardly support my family, but this is all I have for a living.

My family moved to NYC when I was 4 and we've been selling traditional Indian goods since then. I got my license and carts from my parents. We handmade some of our merchant, and purchase some from the local Indian stores.
